In project Facing The World, we make documentaries and picture people through the art of sculpture. By portraying individuals, stories of bigger worlds are portrayed in an unique way.

Time for stories
Often we no longer take the time for a good conversation. But there are so many beautiful people and everyone has their own story. During the modeling process of a bust in clay, casual conversation arises and in the silence often the magic arises through which stories come to the surface.
Art as a bridge to contact
With project Facing the World (FTW) my partner and I are filming these conversations and we are making documentaries of special encounters. Art thus forms the bridge to contact, where a sculpture is no longer an end in itself, but a reason for a meeting, connection and conversation.
Facing the World
In the summer of 2018 me and my partner Jasper launched this adventures project. As a sculptor and filmmaker we go on the road to portray people, looking for interesting people and stories to share with the world.
We have now plunged into 'the world of Kiva gathering', where spiritual leaders from all over the world come together for healing the earth and the people. A documentary about Maori Elder Toroa Aperaha, and Ida Ayu Putu Purnamawati (Day), a Hindu priest from Bali, is emerging from this.
The content of this project is growing faster than we can process. So far we do everything in-house, but are looking for a suitable partner to offer FTW the right platform for the videos and documentary (s). We are also working on funds that want to support this project.

HAKA | The European Battlecry
Maori elder Toroa Aperahama from New Zealand composed the powerful ’Haka European Battle cry’. We met Toroa during the Kiva gathering in 2018. At that time we didn’t realized that it was the start of an documentary about an adventurous journey of man with a mission. Here is a preview of the documentary. To be continued! :-)
Do you want to be informed when the documentary is released? Please let us know, so we can sent you an invitation.
We respect your info and will use this only to inform you about this project.
